Bob Valentinov

DJ, the founder of Kultura Zvuka

Breakbeat, minimal/deep techno, progressive, deep house

In his teens, Bob listened to Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Doors, Sex Pistols and Grazhdanskaya Oborona, which motivated him to start playing the guitar and become a guitarist in a school punk rock band. His music taste started shifting towards electronic music after the first time he attended Kazantip festival in 2005. Then there were Dekmantel, Fusion, Sirq, Strichka and Brave Factory. He often visits Berlin to draw inspirations from the local music scene. His favourite Berlin clubs are Kit Kat, Griessmuehle, Salon Zur Wilden Renate, Berghain, Katerblau.

At some point, his interest in music grew into the desire to share it with others. The underground scene in Kharkiv wasn’t well-developed at that time, as most of the producers were focused on Kiev. That was the reason why the idea of creating Kultura Zvuka formation appeared. Kultura Zvuka has combined in itself a record store, a studio, a club, a promo group, a booking agency, a music school and a label. The emergence of this formation has given a significant push forward to Kharkiv electronic scene and brought it to the new level of development.
